National Tartan Day, Washington DC (1999 - 2001, 2004) Served on Executive Committee of the Washington DC National Tartan Day Committee of the American Scottish Foundation; designed and maintained website; handled marketing and public relations; assisted in managing the National Tartan Day Festival and assisted in coordinating the seven other events; chair of TartanFest 2004 (see www.TartanDay.org)

St. Andrew's Society of Washington DC (1997 - present)
Member of charitable and social organization of men of Scottish descent, which was founded in 1760 (DC chapter founded in 1855.)  Member of the Corps of Stewards from 1997 to the present; and St. Andrew's Society of DC Newsletter Editor from 1998 to 2001.

Alexandria Scottish Heritage Fair (1998 - present)
Fair council member, Program Book editor and designer since 1998; and drafter of articles of incorporation and by-laws for parent organization Alexandria Scottish Heritage Educational Foundation.

WhiskyDC, Washington DC (2004 - present)
Re-started Single Malt Whisky Society of the Washington DC area at the Virginia Scottish Games 2004.

Newsletter and website writer/designer for the Single Malt Whisky Society of the Washington DC area.

Fairfax Cable Access Corporation, Fairfax, VA (1990 - 1992)
Elected to Board of Directors of $1.4 million non-profit public  access television (Channel 10) and radio (94.5 FM) organization; took leadership role in revising copyright guidelines and facilitating long-range strategic  planning

Fairfax County Democratic Committee,  Fairfax County, VA  (1989 - 1990)
Lee District:  Co-Chair for Finance and member of county-wide  Finance Committee (1990); Virginia Democratic Convention Delegate: endorsed Doug Wilder as gubernatorial candidate (1989); Campaigns: Toddy Puller for State Representative (1989); Jim Moran for Congress  (1990, 1994)

Atlantic States Gay Rodeo Association (ASGRA), Washington, DC (2004 - present)
Member of charitable and social organization whose primary purpose is to promote the sport of rodeo and foster country and western lifestyles in the gay and lesbian community. Volunteered on Security Committee for Atlantic Stampede 2004.

Gay Fairfax, Fairfax County, VA (1989 - 1991)
Founder, executive producer, and co-host for weekly magazine cable access TV program; recruited and organized forty to fifty volunteers; program awards included best public affairs program (local, FCAC), "A Matter of Pride" honoree (local, Washington DC Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee), and best gay/lesbian program (national, Hometown USA Video Competition of the National Federation of Local Cable Programmers, now Alliance for Community Media)

Fairfax Lesbian and Gay Citizens Association; Fairfax County, VA (1988 - 1992)
Incorporator (1988) and founding president (1988 - 1989) of  county-wide social, educational and political organization

Virginians for Justice (now Equality Virginia), Richmond, VA (1988 - 1989)
Founding committee member and produced first fundraiser for state-wide gay/Lesbian lobbying network

Alexandria Gay and Lesbian Community Association, Alexandria, VA (1987 - 1988)
Board of Directors, Vice President for Administration (1988); Co-Chair of Fifth Anniversary Gala fundraising special event
